Marion G. (George) Bollesen

Marion G. (George) Bollesen, age 90, loving wife for 54 years of the late Edwin A. Bollesen, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 11, 2022, at her home in Lakeville. Marion was born in Quincy, MA, on Monday October 12, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Sterling W. and Gertrude C. (Snow) George. Growing up in Braintree, MA, Marion graduated from Braintree High School, and continued her education attending secretarial school. Marion was a homemaker when her children were young.  She took a job as the kids got older in the Treasurer’s Office for the Town of Lakeville where she would retire. Marion has been a resident of Lakeville, MA, since 1962. She was a long-time member of the Lakeville United Church of Christ where she was heavily involved as a Sunday School teacher, the Women’s Fellowship, and choir member. Marion also belonged to the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed crafting, painting, and playing cards.  The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren. Marion is survived by her children Kathy M. Bollesen of Lakeville, MA, Carol & Tim Zablowsky of Rochester, MA, Dan Bollesen of Lakeville, MA, Julie & George Milosek of Freetown, MA, grandchildren Elise & Ryan Ashlaw of Unadilla, NY, Amber & Andrew Hathaway of Augusta, ME, Kyle Milosek of Freetown, MA, and Paige Milosek of Freetown, MA, three great grandchildren Quinn, Charlie, and Isabelle, sister Norma Koeppel, brother Robert George, and sister-in-law Helen Miller. Marion was predeceased by her daughter Sandy Bollesen, sister Jean Wilson, and brothers Walter and Irving George. All are invited to a memorial service to celebrate Marion to be held on Thursday June 16, 2022, at 10:00AM at the Lakeville United Church of Christ, 1 Precinct Street Lakeville, MA 02347.  There will be a graveside service where Marion will be laid to rest with her daughter Sandy and late husband Edwin, in Sampson Cemetery in Lakeville, MA. Date and time of graveside service to be announced.
