Marion Martha (Medeiros) Souza

Marion M. (Medeiros) Souza, age 76, wife of the late Kenneth R. Souza, passed away Friday October 1, 2021, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston following complications from heart surgery. Born Thursday August 2, 1945, in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Martha M.(Zebrowski)Medeiros. A graduate of Durfee High School in Fall River, Marion attended night school at the Taunton Beauty Academy earning her cosmetology degree. She continued her education at Bristol Community College receiving her certificate in business office technology. Marion has been a resident of Berkley, MA for the past 40 years. She started out as a floor girl in a dress factory in Fall River, she then became the owner and operator of her own hair salon, Stefie’s Beauty Boutique. Marion would then go on to work for Hallsmith-Sysco as an administrative assistant and merchandiser. Marion enjoyed playing games with family and friends, vacationing with those friends and family, reading, sewing, trips to the beach with her daughters and grandchildren, and sharing her spiritual faith in God with her family. Marion leaves behind her two daughters, Stefanie Valcourt and her husband Jeffrey of Somerset, and Stacy Wright and her husband Kevin of East Taunton, son Kenneth J. Souza and his wife Janel of Berkley, and three grandchildren Aiden & Sophia Valcourt, and Cooper Wright. A memorial service for Marion will be held at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347 following cremation. Marion will be laid to rest with her late husband Kenneth at Assonet Burial Grounds. Date and time of service to be announced and posted once confirmed, please check back.
