Mary Grace (Radcliff) Dowdle

Mary Grace Dowdle, age 89, wife of the late James Buford Dowdle, Sr. for 49 years passed away peacefully Friday November 12, 2021, at The Arbors of Taunton, MA. Born on Thursday June 30, 1932, in Weston West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Claud Langford and Elma Edith (Brown) Radcliff. Mary grew up in Cowen West Virginia, graduating from Cowen High School. James and Mary Grace married in Webster Springs, West Virginia in the spring of 1950. Together they owned and operated several television repair and service shops in Ohio and Florida. Mary managed the books and sales of the shop while James and their sons repaired the televisions and attended to service calls. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Windermere, FL during the 1980’s. During the 1990’s and to just recently, she was a member of the Eustis United Methodist Church in Florida. Grace loved to sing, she sang in each choir of the different Methodist churches she was a member of or attended. She also loved to garden. Mary Grace is survived by her children, James B. Dowdle, Jr. and his wife Cheryl, John R. Dowdle and his late wife Judith, Lisa L. (Dowdle) Mitchell and her husband Thomas, grandchildren Brendan Dowdle, Elizabeth (Dowdle) Adalsteinsson, Aidan Dowdle, Trevor Boivin, Cameron Boivin, and Jack Mitchell, great grandchildren Liam, Maeve, Olivia, and John, special nieces and nephews Roger Yeager, Barbara Susan (Yeager) Huston, Gina (Yeager) Randolph, and Charles Green. A funeral service for Mary Grace will be held on Friday November 19, 2021, at 11:30 in the Meeting House Church (formerly Central Baptist Church) 3 Nickerson Avenue, Middleboro, MA 02346. Mary Grace will be laid to rest with her late husband James in Richwood West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary’s name may be made to the Raynham Food Basket P.O. Box 421, Raynham Center, MA 02768.
