Mary MacLean, age 95, passed away peacefully at her home in Lakeville on Friday, September 8, 2023. Mary graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. She then married her childhood sweetheart, her late husband Douglas MacLean. Together they raised their four daughters and lived in Dorchester, MA, for most of their lives.

Mary enjoyed bowling in the Lucky Strike leagues. She loved to paint and craft at Kit Clark House, Dorchester. Mary had many international experiences as a world traveler. She loved to sing, dance, take pictures and have her picture taken, go to Nantasket Beach, and celebrate life with her friends and family. She lived a full and active life and remained the life of the party until her passing.

Mary was the loving daughter of the late Antonio and Francesca Ardagna, sister of the late Anthony and Pauline Ardagna, aunt of the late Leonard Ardagna and Donna Lancaster, and the loving great grandmother of the late Andrew MacLean.

She was the loving mother to Christine MacNeil and her late husband Danny, Heather Marquette and her late husband Ward, Laurie MacLean, Jeannie Larkin, and son in law Kenneth Larkin.

In addition to her children, she leaves behind her beloved 10 grandchildren, Heather, Christina, Allison, Melissa, Douglas, Anthony, Charles, Andrea, Irene, and Jeanine, as well as 2 granddaughters in law, 5 grandsons in law, and 17 loving great grandchildren that she loved very much. She was the loving Aunt May to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and leaves behind many beloved family and friends.

Mary was an amazing woman. Her lively spirit left a lasting impression on anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She will be greatly missed by so many.

Visitation for Mary will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 9:00 – 10:30AM, followed by prayers, at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville MA 02347. Mary will be laid to rest with her late husband Doug at a graveside service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30PM.
