It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary E. Santos, a cherished mother and friend, who peacefully departed this life on July 2, 2025, at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving family in her home in East Taunton, MA.
Born on February 18, 1952, in Boston, MA, Mary was the beloved daughter of Elizabeth K. (Lebak) Fletcher. She received her education in Taunton and dedicated her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at a local nursing home. Her compassion and selflessness were evident in all her endeavors, and she took great pride in the relationships she built while providing care.
Mary was known for her unwavering love of family and a particular affection for animals, often reminiscing about her beloved dogs-Silver, Snuggles, and Daisy. As a nurturing mother, devoted grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother, her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched. Mary found joy in life's simple pleasures, including visits to the beach, camping trips, dancing, and savoring her favorite hot tea. Her love for coffee cakes and pumpkin pie was a delightful testament to her joyful spirit.
Mary is survived by her daughter Kim M. Santos of Taunton, son Eric Santos and his wife, Stephanie (Snyder) of Taunton; granddaughter Samantha M. Cardin of Taunton, grandson Reginald C. Cardin Jr., and his partner (and caretaker to Mary) Vidalia Westgate; and great-grandson Shawn D. Senerchia Jr., who affectionately called her "GG." She is also mourned by her brothers, Richard Martin of Fall River and Steven Martin of Taunton, along with several nephews. She was the sister of the late Carol A. (Martin) Burch and aunt of the late Korissa L. Burch.
To honor Mary's life and legacy, visiting hours will be held at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home located at 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 7:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at Precinct Cemetery on Rhode Island Road (Rt. 79), Lakeville, MA, on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
Mary will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will carry her memory in their hearts always.
