Mrs. Mavis (Tomlinson) Blanchard, age 84, wife of the late Walter Everett Blanchard, passed away Sunday February 27, 2022, at her home in Berkley, after declining health over the past 8 months. Born on Monday January 31, 1938, in Burnley England, Mavis was the daughter of the late Edgar Gilbert and Bessie (Sagar) Tomlinson. Mavis graduated from Holbrook High School, and worked at Northeastern University in Boston, MA, as the secretary assistant to the Dean. After coming to United States when she was ten, Mavis has lived in St. Louis, MO, Milford, NH, and Sandwich, MA for 40 years before moving to Berkley with her daughter Nancy. A member of the Congregational Church of Sandwich and Randolph, Mavis enjoyed quilting which she has done for over 40 years. She also collected Steif Bears and made doll houses. Mavis is survived by her daughter Nancy J. Hewin and her husband Mark of Berkley, son James Blanchard of Bridgewater, grandchildren Christopher T. Homas, Johnathan T. Hewin, Jeffrey Blanchard, Felicia Blanchard, Molly Blanchard, Angie Blanchard, and two great grandchildren Royale and Whatte. A funeral service for Mavis will be held on Monday March 7, 2022, at 10:00AM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. Mavis will be laid to rest with her late husband Walter in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton following the funeral service.
