Michael John Connell, beloved father, grandfather, and dedicated educator, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, at the Sarah B. Brayton Nursing Center in Fall River, MA, following a courageous battle with multiple system atrophy. He was 77 years old. Born on November 3, 1947, in Boston, MA, Michael was the son of the late John and Anne (Walsh) Connell.

A proud graduate of Braintree High School, class of 1965, Michael continued his education at Boston State Teachers College, earning his Bachelor's Degree in 1970. He devoted his professional life to the Holbrook School System, where he worked as an elementary teacher and made a lasting impression as a varsity baseball coach, girls' varsity basketball coach, and assistant coach for boys' varsity basketball. Michael's passion for sports extended beyond the classroom; he directed and coached at Playball Baseball and the renowned Ted Williams Camp in Lakeville.

Michael was a dedicated member of the United States Army Reserves and had a lifelong love of sports, encompassing both playing and coaching, as well as passionately cheering on his favorite teams. His spirit and enthusiasm for life were as vibrant as his love for family.

He is survived by his children: Michael Connell Jr. and his wife Andrea, Tracey Gray and her husband Bob, Scott Connell and his wife Jessica, and Amy McGonigle and her husband Patrick. Michael also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren and several siblings: Gary Connell, Brian Connell, Maryanne Gosselin, Jackie Connell, and Tom Connell, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother David Connell.

Michael's family takes comfort in honoring his legacy, and they invite friends and loved ones to gather in remembrance of his remarkable life. There will be a memorial visitation on March 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, located at 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM in the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Boston Children's Hospital, reflecting Michael's unwavering commitment to educating and nurturing children.

Michael John Connell will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to teaching, and his passion for sports. His warmth and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
