Michael J. Farretta, age 71, husband of Valerie (Meehan) Farretta, passed away on Wednesday December 1, 2021, in Rochester after many years of declining health. Born in Boston, MA, on Wednesday September 27, 1950, he was the son of the late Robert A. and Margaret (Sinacola) Farretta. Michael attended the Hinton school of medical technology at Northeastern University. He also held a certificate in computer science from Curry College. Michael worked as a lab tech at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. Later he started a lab equipment repair company with his friend Tom Twigg. Due to his health declining, he had to retire early. A member of the Sippican Gun Club, collecting antique guns and reading about them was his passion. In addition to his wife Valerie, Michael is survived by his brother Robert Farretta and his wife Robbin, sister Lindy, who were devoted to Michael, and Valerie loves them so much. He is also survived by his Uncle Dickie and Aunt Kay, Uncle Billy and Aunt Sandy, Aunt Rennie and Uncle Paul, Aunt Maureen and Uncle Ralph. He was the uncle of Rob, Karen, Katrina, Shannon and Natasha, and great uncle to Paige, Atlas, and Zephyr, including many, many cousins. A memorial luncheon to celebrate Michael’s life will be held in the summer. Mike did good deeds throughout his life, please honor him by doing a good deed!!
