Myrtle Louise (Johnson) Tighe

Myrtle Louise Tighe, née Myrtle Johnson, 92, wife of the late Matthew J. Tighe, Jr., passed away peacefully on April 23, 2020. Born in Brockton, MA on September 13, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Laura Johnson. Myrtle was a lifelong resident of Brockton; she was employed as a legal secretary for the law firm of Judge Robert Clark, Jr. for more than 40 years. She then worked for Judge George Asack in Plymouth for several years before her retirement. Myrtle was a lifelong member of Community Covenant Church in East Bridgewater. Myrtle is survived by her: sister Marilyn Gray of Charlton MA, nieces and nephews, Christine Giddings, Steven Hill, David Hill, Joanne Thorpe, Robert Hill, Michael Tighe, and Bradford Tighe, but to all, she was “beloved Auntie Myrtle”. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday July 10, 2021, at the Community Covenant Church 400 Pleasant Street East Bridgewater MA 02333 at 10:00AM. Myrtle’s cremains will then be laid to rest with her late husband Matthew at Melrose Cemetery 88 North Pearl Street Brockton, MA 02301. Donations in Myrtles name may be made to the Community Covenant Church, 400 Pleasant Street, East Bridgewater, MA 02333.
