Nelson Patrick Landis, known as Pat, age 74, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton following a lifelong battle with kidney disease. Pat was the loving husband of Virginia H. Landis and the devoted father of Heather L. Wohl, Shannon R. Landis-Amerault, and Patrick H. Landis. Born in Reading, PA on Monday, March 28, 1949, Pat was the son of the late Nelson E. and Catherine (Siebert) Landis, and was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School in Reading, PA. A resident of Middleborough, Pat worked for twenty years at John Hancock Financial Services in Boston, and then worked for 15 years at Roby’s Propane in Wareham before his retirement. Pat was an avid model railroader and a member of the Bay State Model Railroad Museum. He was an umpire for Middleborough Little League and was a troop leader for the Boy Scouts of America. Pat enjoyed gardening, fishing, and was also a great musician. Pat is remembered for his joyful smile, surgical wit, and his boisterous laugh. In addition to his wife Ginny, son Patrick and his fiancé Elizabeth Lach, daughter Shannon and her husband David Amerault, and daughter Heather, Pat is survived by his granddaughter Holly and her husband Josh Towner, great-grandson Vincent Towner, five nieces, two nephews and his extended loving family and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 5:00 PM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations in Pat’s name may be sent to the DCI Dialysis Clinic 643 Broadway, Somerville, MA 02145. DCI is a non-profit service organization, and your donation may be tax deductible.
