Noel Edward Black, age 77, beloved husband of Carol A. (Richards) Black, passed away Saturday March 5, 2022, at Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA. Born in Brockton, MA, on Monday January 8, 1945, Noel was the son of the late Harold P. & Ruth E. (Newberg) Black. He was the loving father of Thomas Black and his fiancé Laurie DeFina of Foxboro, MA, and Adam Black of West Bridgewater, MA, devoted grandfather of Cody Black, Kayla Black, Brittni Black, and Nicole Black, and the great grandfather of Dawson. He also leaves behind his sister Jane Perkins of Saco, ME, and many loving cousins and close friends. Noel was a true “gentle giant”, he attended Brockton High School, where he was captain of the football team. After high school, Noel served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a dispatcher for Bourne Transportation in Brockton, and Colonial Trucking, also in Brockton. Noel was an avid football fan and enjoyed playing golf. Memorial visitation for Noel will be held on Saturday March 12, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00PM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. Immediately followed by a memorial service at 4:00PM.
