Norma R. Roby, 88, of Lakeville, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 3, 2025, surrounded by family and love. Born Norma Hamilton, she was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Alvilhiera, and later by her second husband, Waldo Roby.
Norma made her home in Lakeville but also spent several months each year in Chapel Hill, NC. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and thoughtful spirit.
Norma was employed for over 20 years at the Lakeville Town Hall, where she was a respected and familiar face in the community.
She had a deep love for staying connected with friends and family through Facebook and enjoyed tracing her roots through ancestry research. Norma was also an avid knitter and loved to travel, cherishing many memorable trips with Waldo by her side.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Lori Canedy and her husband Gary, son Frank Alvilhiera and his wife Hollie, cherished grandchildren; Caitlin Canedy, Jillian Alvilhiera, and Kacie Alvilhiera. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Norma will be held on Thursday July 10, 2025, at 11:00AM at Sampson Cemetery on Bedford Street, Rt.18, Lakeville, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you keep Norma in your thoughts - and perhaps buy a stranger a cup of coffee in her honor. A small act of kindness she would have loved.
