Orrin J. Andersen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Orrin John Andersen, age 84, who left this world on June 30, 2025, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth following a period of declining health. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 14, 1940, Orrin was the beloved son of the late Andrew and Anne (Yengis) Andersen and the devoted husband of the late Carol A. (Flynn) Andersen.

Orrin attended Wentworth Institute of Technology, acquiring an associate's degree that paved the way for a fruitful career in the construction industry. He was a long-time resident of Wareham, Massachusetts. Later in life, he also resided in Plymouth and Carver Massachusetts, where he not only contributed to the community through his work but also served as a proud member of the Auxiliary Coast Guard and Auxiliary Police in Norfolk.

A man of many passions, Orrin enjoyed the serenity of boating and fishing, took great joy in building hot rods, and cherished the connections he made with friends and family throughout his life. His spirit and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Orrin is survived by his son Craig Andersen and his wife Phyllis, his son Mark Andersen and his wife Dorothy, his beloved granddaughters Katie Thompson and her husband Mike, Jessica Andersen, and Stephanie Andersen, as well as his brother Barry Andersen.

The family will hold a service to celebrate Orrin's life, which will take place on Sunday July 27th, 2025, at the Middleboro Elks (24 high Street, Middleborough, MA 02346) from 1:00 – 6:00PM. Friends and family are invited to join them in honoring the remarkable legacy of a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. For all those who knew Orrin, there is always a story to tell.
