Patricia Cavallaro Obituary

Patricia Bernadette (O’Brien) Cavallaro, formerly of Lakeville and Canton, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, surrounded by her five children. Lovingly also known as “Chickie”, she was born and raised in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Pat was the beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Cavallaro Sr., and they were blessed with sixty-three years of marriage. They made their home in Canton and as the family grew, they relocated to Lakeville to remain close to their children.

Pat graduated from Archbishop Cushing Central High School in South Boston and the Greater Boston Clerical School. Post-graduation, she proudly served as secretary to the Chief of Civil Defense in Boston. Pat was a keen businesswoman and for many years, ran her successful real estate firm entitled Cavallaro Real Estate in Canton Center. She loved her work and was always inspired to “close the deal” with her clients.

Pat had many hobbies, although her love for dance was paramount. Later in life, she joined the “Tender Tappers”, a group of tap dancers who brought joy to so many as they travelled to local nursing homes and other venues to “put on a show”. She loved the comradery of the troupe, all the rehearsals, the glittering costumes, and most importantly, the smiles they brought to the audience. Together, the group raised thousands of dollars for the Dana Farber Jimmy Fund, a cause very dear to her.

Pat is the beloved mother of Marie Scarpelli and her husband Kenneth of Lakeville, Joseph L. Cavallaro, Jr. and his wife Marianne of Middleboro, Paul Cavallaro and his wife Kristen of Raynham, Christopher Cavallaro and his wife Mary of Lakeville, and Denise Downey and her husband John of Lakeville. Pat is predeceased by her twin boys, Dominic and William, whom she always held close to her heart.

Pat is the beloved grandmother to Nicholas and his wife Jessica, Enrico and his wife Victoria, Brendon and his wife Cassandra, Lindsey and her husband Coleman, Jessica and her fiancé Jordan, Mikaela and her husband Logan, Stephanie and her fiancé Eric, Adrianne, and Bridget. Pat is great-grandmother to Hudson, Luca Paul, Theo, and Nora Jane. Pat is the beloved sister of the late Jean (O’Brien) Dooley, and Marie (O’Brien) Martone. She is also blessed with many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
