Patricia Lee (Flanders) Vurpillatte

Patricia Lee (Flanders) Vurpillatte, age 73 of Lakeville, MA, wife of M. James Vurpillatte for 53 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 5, 2021, at her home in Lakeville, surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. Born on Monday February 9, 1948, in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Vivian (Pottle) Flanders. Patricia grew up in Newton, MA, and graduated from Newton High School, and has been a resident of Lakeville for the past 51 years. Family was very important to Patricia; she and her husband Jim owned and ran a convenient store in Clark Shores in Lakeville for many years and supported their children with their own businesses. Patricia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, walks with her husband Jim, trips to Aruba, listening to the birds outside in the yard, and was an avid sports fan. She also kept an eye out on the neighborhood, watching out for the kids, and their families. In addition to her husband Jim, Patricia is survived by her 3 children, Elaine M. Vurpillatte of Lakeville, James R. Vurpillatte and his wife Desiree of Hanson, and Scott M. Vurpillatte of Acushnet. Eight grandchildren, Christina, Haydon, Talia, Ava, Calliegh, James, Tatum, Aria, and two great grandchildren, Rachel and Shane. Three sisters, Susan Muise of Newton, Jean Weiner of Framingham, and Carol Ferguson of Townsend, including several nieces and nephews. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday August 13, 2021, from 4:00 – 7:00PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00PM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville MA 02347.
