It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Patrick Riley, 31, of Lakeville, on July 6, 2025.
Born in Stoughton, Massachusetts, on August 3, 1993, Patrick was a spirited and kind-hearted soul who made a lasting impact on those around him. During his childhood, he found joy and camaraderie in sports, spending countless hours playing baseball, soccer, and football at the Ted Williams Camp in Lakeville. Those early years reflected his love of competition, teamwork, and friendship. He graduated from Apponequet Regional High School in 2011, where he developed lasting friendships.
Patrick had a passion for working with his hands and later pursued his passion by attending barber school, becoming a licensed barber. This led him to Los Angeles to pursue his career. Catalina Island was a recent destination for Patrick and his Mom to explore in California. He was known for his humor, love for the outdoors, and his adventurous spirit, which led to many hunting and fishing trips to Maine and Florida with his Dad. Whether riding dirt bikes or spending countless hours outdoors, Patrick was always up for an adventure. He was never far from his favorite four-legged friend, Diesel, and dreamt of raising his own Rottweiler puppies one day. Patrick was someone who could light up a room with his smile and always found a way to make others feel seen and supported. His vivacious spirit will live on within everyone who knew him.
Patrick was the dearly beloved son of Eleanor (Handrahan) and John Riley, brother of Colleen Riley Cetta and husband Joe, and grandson of Mary Riley. Patrick was the devoted nephew of Theresa and Ernest Courville, Jessica and Paul Handrahan, Leigh and Brian Handrahan, Maureen Salamone, Kathleen Riley, and James Riley. Patrick was blessed to have several cousins: Samantha Courville, Jennifer Handrahan, Kasandra Deyulus, Mackenzie Handrahan, Kendall Handrahan, Brian Handrahan, Jaime Handrahan, Shane Handrahan, Crissy MacDougall, Julianne Salamone, Michael Riley, Molly Riley, Sean Riley, Gregory Harding, Devon Harding. He was predeceased by his grandparents, John Riley Sr., and James and Carol Handrahan, Uncle Kevin Riley, and cousins Justin Gaucher and Daniel Salamone.
Visitation for Patrick will be held on Monday, July 21st, from 5:00 - 8:00PM at Dahlborg-MacNevin 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 22nd, at 11:00AM at Saint John Neumann Church 157 Middleboro Road East Freetown, MA 02717.
