Raymond Schuler Obituary

Raymond Arthur Schuler, husband of Anne (Leoffler) Schuler, passed away on January 21, 2022, at St. Joseph Manor in Brockton, MA after a near decade long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was 73 years old. Born in Brookline, MA on September 17, 1948, he was the son of the late Alfred and Andrea (Perrault) Schuler and was their second of twelve children.

Ray grew up in Stoughton, MA and graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School in 1966. He served in the US Army from 1968-1971. He moved to Middleboro, MA in 1980 with his wife where he raised his family and resided for the remainder of his life. He worked as a glass glazier at City Glass in Brockton, MA for over 30 years. A man of great faith, Ray was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish, attending weekly mass and serving as a eucharistic minister for over 20 years.

Outside of his day job, Ray was a self-taught and skillful metal fabricator, carpenter, electrician, mechanic, pool man, supergluer, and everything in between; a true Mr. Fix-it. When he wasn’t busy with one of his many projects, Ray absolutely loved gardening and ballroom dancing.

In addition to his wife, Ray leaves behind his four children, Leslie Schuler of Nashua, NH, Brendan Schuler and his fiancé Kayla DeBenedictis of Middleboro, MA, Justin and Jennifer (Wrynn) Schuler of Hanover, MA, and Leah Schuler of Middleboro, MA, his two granddaughters Adalynn Rae and Lyla Rose, and his eleven siblings: Alfred and Connie (Fausnaught) of Stoughton, MA, Andrea (Schuler) and L.D. Minor of Ridgeland, MS, Kathleen (Schuler) and Bob Buehler of Ft. Lauderdale, FL,  Richard and Patricia (McMahon) of Framingham, MA, Barbara (Schuler) and Donnie Tynes of Madison, MS,  Robert of Jackson, MS, Christine (Schuler) and Jud Stephenson of Ridgeland, MS,  David of Madison, MS, Terri-Ann (Schuler) and Richard and Eckles of Baton Rouge, LA, Joanne (Schuler) and Mike Shelton of Hanceville, AL and Karen (Schuler) and Rusty Gentry of Orange Beach, AL. He is also survived by several sisters and brother’s in-law, and more than twenty nieces and nephews from the Schuler and Leoffler families.
