Regina LeRoy Obituary

Regina D. (Giannelli) LeRoy, age 94, of Middleborough, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, surrounded by her family, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, MA. Born on Friday, August 24, 1928, and raised in Stoughton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Miraglia) Giannelli Stephens, and was one of 13 brothers and sisters, 3 who survive her.

“Tina” was the wife of the late Ralph G. LeRoy for over 56 years, and the love of her life until his passing in 2004. She worked as a housekeeper at Bridgewater State University for over 35 years, enjoying the friendship of both staff and students.

Tina loved her family more than anything else and was the rock of her family. She was a caring, selfless, giving person with a wonderful sense of humor. She was a friend to all she met and touched the lives of so many people of all ages.

Tina enjoyed watching WWE wrestling and knew all the names of the wrestlers through the years. She was a huge RedSox fan and loved Elvis Presley. She also enjoyed her word search puzzles, reading, animals, her garden (especially cherry tomatoes), painting her fingernails purple, and she loved her birthday!

Tina is survived by her four sons: R. James LeRoy of Middleborough, Dennis LeRoy and his wife Judith of Brockton, Kenneth LeRoy of Florida, and Gary LeRoy of Braintree, fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren, brother Aldo Giannelli of New Bedford, sister Frances (Giannelli) Morris of North Carolina, brother Robert Stephens of Brockton, daughter-in-law Micheline LeRoy, and her numerous nieces and nephews. Tina was predeceased by her son Dana LeRoy and daughter Elizabeth “Laurie” LeRoy. In addition to her loving family, Tina is also survived by her longtime friend, Jayne Hernandez, and her caretakers and dear friends, Karen Mayers, Lindsay Quintal, and Artie Parsons.

Funeral arrangements for Tina are private. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, closer to what would have been Tina’s 95th birthday as she always loved her birthday. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284, or by visiting their website at https://www.dana-farber.org
