It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard B. Clifford, age 89, who departed from this world on April 22, 2026, at the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home in Middleboro, MA. Born on July 1, 1936, in Boston, MA, Richard was the cherished son of John T. Clifford Jr. and Louise (Morris) Clifford.
A proud graduate of North Quincy High School, Class of 1954, Richard devoted his career to the printing industry, serving diligently as an office manager until his retirement. He spent many years as a resident of Lakeville and, more recently, Middleboro, where he touched the lives of those around him.
Known for his vibrant spirit, Richard was a passionate member of the Senior Action Theater Group. He found joy in the performing arts, taking part in local productions such as *Corn Bread Willy*, *Poor Willy*, and *Sunshine Boys*. His love for baseball and travel was well-known, with fond memories of trips to England and Florida.
Richard's heart was as generous as it was kind. He devoted his time and love to those in need, notably through his work in Haiti, where he offered comfort to infants and children suffering from HIV and AIDS. His unwavering faith as a devoted Catholic was a cornerstone of his life.
The youngest of five children, Richard is survived by his beloved sister, Patricia Clifford of Middleboro, and his extended family, including niece Marilyn A. Chase, great-nephew Michael J. Chase of Norwood, great-niece Joy L. Chase of Quincy, and many cherished great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Louise T. Chase and his brothers John Clifford III and Paul Clifford, and nephew Harold R Chase Jr.
Visitation for Richard B. Clifford will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, located at 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. A Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Road, East Freetown, MA 02717. Richard will be affectionately laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery on Wood Street in Middleboro, immediately following the Funeral Mass.
In this time of mourning, let us remember Richard for his kindness, his dedication to service, and the joy he brought to the lives of those who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
