Richard A. Dawson

Richard A. Dawson, age 81, of Brockton, MA, passed away on Wednesday September 18, 2024, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a sudden decline in his health. Born on Sunday, October 4, 1942, in Bourne, MA, Richard was the son of the late Richard and Helen E. (Forsberg) Dawson. He is survived by his daughter; Jo-Anne T. Purdy and her husband David of Upton, MA, grandchildren Steven and Georgia, and his ex-wife and dedicated caregiver for the past 10 years Carol T. (Kard) Dawson. A graduate of Brockton High School, Richard was a lifelong resident of Brockton and enjoyed spending summers in Wareham. He worked as a supervisor and machinist for Brookefield Engineering, retiring after 30 plus years. Richard was an avid Boston sports fan who enjoyed watching and attending the Patriots and RedSox games. He also enjoyed vacationing in Aruba. Services for Richard were arranged by Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347.
