Robert Briggs Obituary

Robert Osborne Briggs, age 77, of Lakeville, MA, beloved husband of Celia A. (Hendrickson) Briggs, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at his home. Born on November 16, 1947, in Boston, MA, he was a cherished son of the late Stedman F. and Hester F. (Heigham) Briggs.

Bob grew up on Brooks Street in Brighton and later moved to Franklin, where he graduated from Franklin High School, class of 1965. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, stationed in Germany.

In his professional life, Bob dedicated his talents to the medical equipment field, initially working as a biomedical repair technician. He would later embark on a successful entrepreneurial journey alongside his wife, Celia, founding Northeast Medical Sales, Inc. in 1989. The couple operated their business for 29 years, providing essential services in the sales and repair of used hospital medical equipment. Bob's career afforded him the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the United States, a passion he deeply enjoyed.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob was a man of diverse interests. He took great pleasure in music, cherished time spent with family and enjoyed embarking on adventures with his wife. Bob also loved engaging in playful activities such as Pokemon with his grandchildren and was an avid bowler and stamp collector in his younger years.

In addition to his loving wife Celia, Bob is survived by his sons: R. Jason Briggs and his wife Nicole of Cumberland, RI; Eric C. Briggs and his partner Lori-Ann Carter of Lakeville; and Jeffrey K. Briggs and his wife Katherine Forde of West Roxbury. His daughter, Cynthia E. Rosenfield and her husband Joseph of Bridgewater, along with his grandchildren-Alexis Golliff and her husband Robbie, Morgan Briggs, Kayla Briggs, Kevin Briggs, Maxwell and Madison Rosenfield, Abigail and Cecile Briggs, and Joshua and Maeve Briggs-were sources of immense joy in his life. Bob was also a proud great-grandfather to Gianna Golliff of Lakeville. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Susan (White) Briggs and his nieces and nephews: Christopher Briggs, Trace Rossman, Joshua, Adam, Ryan, and Nicole Hendrickson. He was predeceased by his brother Stedman F. "Teddy" Briggs.

A private graveside service to honor Bob's life will take place at Northville Cemetery in East Bridgewater, MA. His family looks forward to celebrating his memory with compassion and love in the days to come. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of kindness and generosity.
