Robert F. Holmgren, Sr.

Robert F. Holmgren, Sr., age 79, husband of the late Janet L. (Metcalf) Holmgren, passed away Sunday January 2, 2022, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, after a period of failing health. Born in Wareham, MA, on Sunday November 29, 1942, Robert was the son of the late Carl F. and Mary H. (Boucher) Holmgren. Robert spent most of his life in Wareham, and was a graduate of Wareham High School, later moving to Lakeville in 1986. Robert was a machinist by trade working for the Ocean Spray Corporation, where he would retire. An avid fisherman, especially tuna fishing, Robert enjoyed camping and being outdoors. Robert is survived by his three sons: Robert F. Holmgren, Jr. and his wife Rose of Wareham, Lance A. Holmgren of Lakeville, Michael W. Holmgren of Lakeville, and two granddaughters Heather Lynn Holmgren and Carina May Holmgren both from Wareham. A graveside service for Robert will be held on Thursday January 6, 2022, at 11:00AM, at Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater, where he will be laid to rest with his late wife Janet.
