It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert J. Picardi Sr., age 89, who left us peacefully on March 25, 2026, surrounded by the family he treasured above all else. Bob, as he was affectionately known, departed this life after bravely confronting health challenges over the past few years. Born on November 26, 1936, in Boston, he was the cherished son of the late Amadeo Emmanuele Picardi and Mary (Gaetano) Picardi.
Above all, Bob was a devoted family man who often said, "My family means the world to me"—words he lived by every single day. He was honored to be the loving husband for 64 years to the late Genevieve (Jean) Picardi, his beloved partner and the love of his life, and the loving father to his late son, Robert (Bobby) Picardi Jr. Together with Jean, they built a legacy of love, faith, and dedication that continues through their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Bob was a proud and loving father to his daughters, Cheryl Coe and her life partner Martin Bulman, and Michelle Terlecki and her husband Peter. He took immense joy in his role as grandfather to Alexandra Coe, Stephanie Marckini and her husband Paul, and Leanne Terlecki. His face would light up when speaking of his great-grandson, Cian Marckini, who brought him tremendous happiness. Bob cherished every moment spent with his family—whether fishing, golfing, traveling to new places, or simply gathering together to create lasting memories. In addition to his parents, his beloved wife Jean, and his son Bobby, Bob was predeceased by his son-in-law, Anthony Coe.
Professionally, Bob dedicated 36 years to serving as a sales manager at Sears. After retirement, he pursued his passion for travel as a travel agent for Card Tour and Travel Services, often planning adventures for others to enjoy. Bob was a committed member of his community, serving as a board member of the Parish Council at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, where he also taught CCD and administered the Holy Eucharist. He was an active member of the Brockton Rotary Club. His civic engagement included participating on the transition committee for the mayor of Brockton, MA, and fulfilling key leadership roles with the Brockton Parking Authority and as Chairman and President of the Board for the Village of Winnipesaukee.
Visiting hours for Robert will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, located at 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 PM to conclude the evening's services, providing family and friends an opportunity to honor his life and legacy.
Robert will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife Jean and son Robert (Bobby) Picardi Jr. at Melrose Cemetery, 88 North Pearl Street, Brockton, MA 02301 on Thursday, April 2, 2026, with a committal service scheduled for 11:00 AM.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he cherished most—his family.
