Robert Joseph Signori

Robert Joseph Signori, 83, from Lakeville MA, passed away on July 19 after a brief illness. Beloved husband of Eleanor Grace (Touhey) Signori for 59 years. Born in Boston on July 5, 1939, son of the late Primo & Cecilia (Martini) Signori. Robert lived 29 years in Boston where he attended Boston Trade School, before moving to Brockton, MA in 1969 before moving to Lakeville MA in 1985.  In 1956, he joined the Army and served as an Army Medic for 2 years after which he became an Army Reservist until 1964.  He worked as a skilled plumber from 1965 to 1976. In 1976, Robert attended the Police Academy in Brockton where he served as a Brockton Police Officer from 1976 to 1984. Robert loved spending time with his grandchildren & children and especially the love of his life and “Angel,” his wonderful wife Ellie! Robert was an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction literature. He enjoyed cultivating a huge garden, cooking and pickling the fruits of his garden, nature photography and building stained glass lamps and keepsakes.  He was a regular parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St.’s Martha & Mary’s in Lakeville.  He is survived by his wife Eleanor Grace Signori, son Robert & wife Kimberly of Franklin, son William & wife Catherine of Canton, daughter Donna Coray & husband Douglas of Acushnet; Grandchildren Jake, Rachel, Samantha, Jessica, Andrew, Spencer, Zachary & Sebastian; brother-in-law Martin Touhey & wife Joan of Halifax, sister-in-law Patricia Donnelly & husband Mark of Scituate, brother-in-law James Touhey & wife Jean of Pembroke. Robert was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Yanchuk & husband Chuck & his sister Frances Snyder (& survived by husband Mark). 

Visiting hours will be Sunday, August 7th from 1pm to 4pm in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, August 8th at 10am at St.’s Martha & Mary’s Church in Lakeville. Burial will follow with Military Honors at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Middleboro, MA.
