Ruth C. (Wilder) Hall

Ruth C. (Wilder) Hall, 89, of Bridgewater, MA, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, August 11, 2024, after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Elliot A. Hall, Jr., and daughter of the late Irving and Elizabeth (Chamberlain) Wilder. A Brockton native, Ruth graduated from Brockton High School in 1952 and spent the majority of her life there before relocating to Bridgewater two decades ago. An accomplished musician, she served as an organist and choir director at Warren Avenue Baptist Church in Brockton and later at First Baptist Church of Bridgewater, holding membership in both congregations. Ruth was a passionate reader, starting her day with the Bible and Daily Bread, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and was an enthusiastic Boston Red Sox supporter. She leaves behind her daughter Kathy Oliveri and her husband Ron of Bridgewater, granddaughter Amanda Hall and her partner Matthew Hamilton of Bridgewater, great-grandsons Nathan and Austin, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her sister Marjorie Gardner. Services will be held at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA, on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM, preceded by a visitation hour from 10:00-11:00 AM. Interment beside her husband Elliot will follow at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.
