Sandra L. (Crockett) Giddings, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Benchmark Senior Living at Plymouth Crossings after a long struggle with dementia. She was the widow of Glen Giddings and daughter of the late M. David and B. Gwendolyn (Hawley) Crockett. Born in Orofino, Idaho, Sandra was raised and attended school in Republic, Washington, and had been a resident of Alaska since 1970 before moving to Middleborough to be near her brother and sister-in-law. A direct descendant and great, great, great granddaughter of the “Davy Crockett” Sandra was a proud member of the DDDC (Direct Descendants and Kin of Davy Crockett). A homemaker, Sandra, alongside her husband Glen, also worked in the gold mining industry in Alaska. She dedicated time volunteering at the council on aging, helping seniors with tax preparation and filing. Sandra was known for her adventurous spirit, love for travel, talent in photography, and her hobbies of knitting and gardening. She is survived by her daughter Michele Giddings of Fairbanks, AK, grandson Randy Giddings of Alaska, and her brother David Crockett and his wife Barbara of Middleborough. Visitation will take place at a later date at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. A private graveside service is to be held at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Middleborough at a future date.
