Stephen Robert Peterson

Stephen “Steve” Robert Peterson, lovingly known as Papa to his family, 75, of Wareham, MA, passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 28, 1949, in Stoughton, Massachusetts, Steve was the son of the late Jonathan and Margaret Peterson. He was beloved by family and friends for his warm heart, sharp wit, and legendary storytelling. 

A proud member of IBEW Local 223 and the May Flower Lodge, Steve built a long and respected career as an electrician and electrical inspector for several local towns. His strong work ethic, combined with a deep sense of community, earned him the admiration of many. 

Steve was married to Linda Peterson for 25 years, and together they raised a loving family. He is survived by his children: Jonathan Peterson; Christopher Peterson and his wife, Alyson; Matthew Peterson and his wife, Lisa; Kenneth Tubman and his wife, Carolyn; Kimberly Ryan and her husband, Joseph; and Amy Grzybowski and her husband, Michael. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Steve was predeceased by his brother, Alan Peterson, and leaves behind his siblings William Peterson, Juliana McGovern, Virginia Delaney, Joan Clark, and Ellen Curran. 

Steve had a deep love for travel and treasured every moment spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. His quick humor, big heart, and captivating stories made him the life of every gathering. Whether telling a tale, fixing a light, or simply sharing a laugh, Steve made everyone around him feel seen and valued. 

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial visitation for Steve will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 9:00 - 11:00AM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347, followed by a 11:30AM Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church / St. Isidore Parish 340 Center Street Middleborough, MA 02346.
