Susan Grace Swanson Caron has gone home to be with her Lord. She died peacefully of Alzheimer's Disease in Lexington, attended by her husband, Jon; son, Jon; and daughter, Dani, on June 18, 2022, at the age of 78.
She will be remembered by the many whose lives she touched as a member of the First Presbyterian choir, a student and leader in Bible study groups in Mocksville, and Punta Gorda, FL, a beloved sister, a loving and nurturing mother, and a grandmother on her hands and knees playing with little trucks and Barbie dolls.
Susan also designed and created unique quilts for each of her six grandchildren and was a brilliant and collegial member of technical teams at the National Security Agency.
She was a wife who was always there, doing far more than her share, enriching a life partnership even when that might have seemed to be a Sisyphean task.
Sue probably will be remembered by the two people who returned her wallet after finding it on a salt flat a few hundred of feet below sea level in Death Valley National Park, California, and another couple who shared her mountain peak discoveries in New Hampshire. And fond memories will be cherished by young and old adventurers who ran with her many miles from one erupting geyser to the next, all day long, in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming.
Susan rejoiced and was glad in each day that God gave her. She will be missed always but will live forever in our hearts and with The Lord.
Survivors include her husband, Jonathan F. Caron; a daughter, Danielle Mazur (David) of Conway, MA; a son, Jonathan P. Caron (Caroline) of Durham, NH; a sister, Jacqueline Swanson of Wareham, MA; a brother, Paul Swanson (Susan) of Gulf Breeze, FL; and grandchildren, Nate, Ben and Greg Caron, and Suzy, Grace and Davey Mazur.
