Theodore Szpak

Theodore Szpak, of Lakeville, MA, son of the late Roman and Rose Szpak of Manchester, NH, passed away on June 30, 2026, at age 77, from a recently diagnosed late-stage cancer. Ted shared life with his loving wife Marilyn E. (Kenneally) Szpak for 28 years. He cherished his home and family in Lakeville, MA, as a husband to Marilyn and as a stepfather/grandfather/great-grandfather to her children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ted was also the eldest brother to the three sisters and three brothers with whom he grew up in Manchester, NH. He was "Papa Ted" to his family in and around Lakeville, and "Uncle Teddy" to his brothers and sisters and their families in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Florida. He had snappy nicknames for everyone in return, and conversing with him always meant being ready for a joke, pun or a funny remark.

Ted served in the Army in the 1960's and worked over the years as a property manager for properties in Clearwater, Florida, at Boston University, and in Bristol, Rhode Island. At various times he was a fisherman, a boater, a woodworker (after his father), an expert at making his own Polish sausage, and an avid reader of history. He was proud of his origins and background and delighted in the successes of everyone around him. He will be greatly missed, ever remembered, and held close to the hearts of all who knew him.

Apart from his wife Marilyn, Ted is survived by three stepchildren, Jolene Lomba and her husband Kevin Lomba, Rene Roy and her husband Marc Roy, and Gary Goodine and his wife Kathryn Goodine, and all of their children and grandchildren; his sister Krystyna Szpak Wyman and her husband Dean Wyman, his brother Mark Szpak and his wife Robin Mount, his brother Ed Szpak, his sister Lisa Szpak and his sister Tina Szpak, and all of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his brother Richard Szpak.
