Vincent P. Troiani, Jr. age 54, of Lakeville, MA, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday January 26, 2022. Vinny was born on Wednesday August 2, 1967, and raised in Hyde Park, MA. He attended high school at the prestigious Boston Latin and received his associates degree from Massasoit Community College. He then moved to Whitman where he started a family with his wife April and two sons Vinny and Mario. He loved his family, hockey, grilling, and his jeep (not necessarily in that order). A pillar of his community he was always willing to help where it was needed; at the hockey rink, running a local support group, or volunteering his time where it was needed. Vinny will be remembered by all who knew him as a true friend. He provided so many with a helping hand, a listening ear, or a shoulder to cry on. Vinny found his true calling as a father. While living in Whitman Vinny carried his love for hockey with him and spent many years involved with and coaching the youth hockey teams in town. Vinny continued to follow and support his sons in everything they did, while somehow still finding time to have his own adventures and joys. Vinny was a member and organizer of many men’s hockey leagues throughout the south shore. Vinny’s free time wasn’t just spent at the hockey rink however, he volunteered his time with the Samaritans taking calls from those in need and running a support group, allowing others to have a safe place to speak their thoughts. He was a Pan Mass Challenge volunteer for 16 years straight. Vinny will be survived by his two sons, Vinny and Mario, his parents Jeanette and Vinny, his brother James, his nieces and nephews Ashley, Bianca, Justin, Arielle, and JJ. He’s also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Vinny was predeceased by his brother Paul Troiani who passed away April 9, 2006. Visiting hours for Vinny will be held on Friday February 4, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00PM, at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. A funeral home service will be held on Saturday February 5, 2022, at 10:00AM. Vinny will be laid to rest at Cedar Knoll Cemetery in East Taunton.
