Virginia Christensen Obituary

Virginia Louise (McVay) Christensen, 87, of Lakeville, Massachusetts, passed away on Wednesday June 23, 2026. Born on November 1, 1938, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Virginia lived a life defined by quiet grace, steady kindness, and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved.

Virginia built a long and dedicated career as a Tax Examiner for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts before retiring. She took pride in her work, approaching it with the same dependability and care she brought to every part of her life. But of all her accomplishments, none meant more to her than raising three loving daughters. Virginia's committment to motherhood was unwavering, leading by example and showing her girls what it meant to live with integrity and warmth.

Those who knew Virginia understood that her strength was not the loud kind. It was quiet, steady, and deeply felt. She carried herself with a positive attitiude about life that lifted the people around her. She lived by a simple but powerful rule: if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything. In a world that often rewards sharp words, Virginia chose gentleness every single time.

In her quieter moments, Virginia could often be found with a good book in hand and a cat curled up nearby. She was a devoted RedSox and Bruins fan who never missed a chance to cheer on her teams. She also had a deep appreciation for music, particularly the songs of k.d. lang, which brought her great joy over the years.

Virginia is survived by her three daughters, Jeannie Doucette and her life partner Brian Richardson, Lisa Christensen and her life partner Chris LeBoeuf and her youngest daughter who was a devoted and loving caregiver in her final years, Beth Christensen. Virginia loved her four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

In honor of Virginia, a private service will be held. Virginia's daughters offer these words in her memory: You taught me grace when life felt rough,

And how to love through sacrifice.

Your quiet care was loud enough,

To shape my soul, to make me wise.

I carry you in how I give,

In gentle acts, in love I share.

You're gone, but still, in how I live,

You walk beside me everywhere.

May her gentle spirit continue to guide those she loved so well.
