Wayne S. Kauranen

Wayne S. Kauranen, age 70, of Lakeville, MA, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Boston Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Quincy, MA, on Monday April 12, 1954, he was the son of the late Waino J. Kauranen and Georgelyn R. (Howes) Kauranen. Wayne is survived by his son Steven Kauranen and his wife Blair, daughter Kerri Kauranen-Ymer, granddaughters Remy Ymer, Olivia Kauranen, grandsons Steven C. and Sullivan Kauranen all of Lakeville, and his sister Gail Kauranen-Jones of Exeter, NH. Wayne was a class of 1972 graduate of Milton High School and continued his education at the Philadelphia College of Art. He worked as a property manager for FX Messina Enterprises until his retirement. Wayne had a collection of PEZ dispensers, lobsters and turtles, all inside jokes throughout his life that inspired these gifts from loved ones for years. #whatlobsters. He was also fascinated with his family tree and learning more about his family and their history. Wayne’s passion for politics was evident, and he would be relieved to not have to endure another Presidential election. Wayne shared some of his own words with his family reflecting on his life and they wanted to share his words with everyone who knew and loved Wayne.

“Please do not be sad. There has never been a man as fortunate as me. My son and daughter have become fantastic people and great parents. My grandkids filled my heart with love every day. There simply is no more contented, peaceful, feeling possible. You all amaze me. It’s incredible to me I had a part in creating this. I love you all. Thank you for giving me a fantastic life. Please remember me as a man that loved his family with all his heart. You made it easy.”  - Wayne S. Kauranen
