William Pope Obituary

William G. Pope, aged 75, of Raynham, Massachusetts, and beloved husband of Donna J. (Barry) Pope, and devoted father to Jacqueline Pope, passed away on December 3, 2024, at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester, MA, following a valiant two-and-a-half-year battle with illness. Born in Boston, MA, on November 21, 1949, he was the cherished son of the late George and Helena (Angell) Pope.

A graduate of Stoughton High School, Bill furthered his education with an associate degree from Newbury College. His commitment to service and country was manifest in his time as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he served from 1968 to 1972. Following his military service, Bill established a successful career in aerospace production control, working for Senior Metal Bellows in Sharon, MA.

In his personal life, Bill was an avid gardener and took great pleasure in landscaping, reflecting his deep appreciation for nature and the beauty of his surroundings. At one point he was known to have the greenest grass in Lakeville. Bill was protector and will be remembered by his family as a loving and supportive husband and father.

William is survived by his wife, Donna, and his daughter, Jacqueline, along with his two brothers, Edward Pope and his wife Debbi, James Pope and his wife Noreen, and several treasured nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his son Michael D. Pope.

Funeral arrangements have been made to honor his life and legacy. A public viewing will be held at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home on December 12, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at the same location at 7:00 PM. A private graveside service will take place at Sampson Cemetery on Friday December 13, 2024. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Bill's name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by visiting their website at www.stjude.org.

The family invites all who knew and loved Bill to join them in celebrating his remarkable life and to share in the fond memories he has left behind. His kindness and generosity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
