William E. Young, Jr.

Lakeville, MA - William "Billy" E. Young Jr. passed away suddenly on July 17, 2025, at the age of 63.

Born in Boston, Billy was the cherished son of the late William E. Young Sr. and Patricia Young. He was a proud graduate of Blue Hills Regional Technical High School and went on to dedicate many years of hard work as a skilled sheet metal fabricator at S&B Mechanical in Bridgewater, MA.

Billy made his home in Lakeville. He was the kind of man whose loyalty ran deep, steadfast in friendship and generous with his time. Whether casting a line on the water, throwing darts with friends, or critiquing a meal, he brought humor, curiosity, and heart to everything he did. A passionate fisherman and boater, he found peace on the water.

Billy is survived by his siblings' brother Stephen and wife Kelly Young of Halifax, MA, sister Lisa and husband Al Kennedy of Avon, MA, brother Michael and wife Linda Young of Wrentham, MA, and sister Deborah and husband Michael Prisco of Lakeville, MA. Billy was a devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews, all of whom adored him deeply. He had a playful spirit and a quick wit that sparked endless rounds of banter, laughter, and good-natured teasing. Whether swapping stories or sharing inside jokes, he created lasting memories through his joyful interactions with them. Billy was also a treasured friend to Paul and Jennifer Bowes, with whom he shared countless adventures, especially vacationing, fishing, and boating. His beloved dog Chi-Chi was his faithful companion and a source of daily joy.

Billy's generous spirit, unwavering loyalty, and unforgettable laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visiting hours for Billy will be held on Thursday July 24, 2025, from 4:00 - 7:00PM at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. A funeral mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:00AM on Friday July 25, 2025 at St. John Neumann Church 157 Middleboro Road in East Freetown, MA 02717.
