Music by The Piano Brothers

Joseph D. Ulbin, age 70,  beloved husband to Margaret A. Ulbin passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2018, after a courageous battler with cancer. Joe and Maggie were a perfect example of true love and would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on July 4th.

He was born on May 21, 1947 in Providence, RI, son of the late Joseph T. Ulbin and Ruby (Motta) Ulbin. He lived most of his life in Warwick, RI until moving in with his loving family in Lakeville, MA in 2016. He was the beloved father of Joseph E. Ulbin and his wife Elizabeth Ulbin of Lakeville, MA as well as a proud Papa to his two precious granddaughters Alayna and Lucy.

He was the owner and operator of J. Ulbins Collision Service in Johnston, RI for over 30 years. He loved rebuilding audio speakers and stereo equipment, camping and canoeing, and was a car enthusiast. He had a great passion for music, especially the band Tower of Power. But, most of all he loved playing with his two granddaughters, whom he adored. He enjoyed hanging out with his in-laws (or out-laws as he would say) and looked forward to getting breakfast with his friends.

Joe had the brightest blue eyes, the biggest smile, and the kindest heart. He loved the color yellow, which showed through his bright yellow work shirts and his “lounge” shorts.

He was former Assistant Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 56 in Warwick, RI. He was also a former parishioner of Saints Rose and Clement in Warwick, RI and current at Saints Martha and Mary in Lakeville, MA.

He is survived by his brother Wayne Ulbin and his late wife Debbie of Warwick, RI, and his sister Diane Green of Warwick, RI. As well as many sister-in-laws and brother-in laws: Tony and Diane Fuzek of Greenville, RI, Eddy Onorato and Jody Butler of Hopkinton, RI, Marleen Onorato of Providence, RI, Eileen Parrillo and husband Richard of Warwick, RI, Vinny Onorato and wife Denise of Westport, MA, and the late Leonard and Anthony Jr. Onorato both of Providence.  He also leaves behind the Walker family (the out-laws): Bradley and Lynnea Walker of Rochester, MA, Bethany Walker of Providence, RI, Carrie Walker, Jason Sousa, and Connor Grieco of Fairhaven, MA, and Amanda Walker of Fairhaven, MA. As well as many dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and very loving close friends.

Visitation will take place on Monday, January 29, 2018 fro 4-7 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., Lakeville, MA with a service to follow at 7:00 PM
