Henry F. Dors, 87, of Onset, MA formerly of Bridgewater, MA passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2019. He was the devoted husband of 62 years to Eleanor (Willis) Dors. Born January 7, 1932 in Brockton he was the son of the late Henry and Anna (Yezukewicz) Dors.

Henry was a 1949 graduate of Brockton highschool and then attended 1 year at B.U. before enlisting in the Marines where he attained the rank of sergeant during the Korean war. He worked at the New England Telephone Co. retiring after 37 years.

Henry loved reading (history and war books), watching historical documentaries and building model aircrafts and ships. After Henry retired he mowed the fields for the Bridgewater Youth Soccer, he was the Veterans Grave Officier for the Town of Wareham and he was on the Veterans Council of Wareham. One of his favorite volunteer jobs was the Youth Cadet Instructor at Mass Maritime Academy where he was known to all as “Sarge”.

Henry loved traveling with family; especially to Disney World. He enjoyed going out for breakfast and dinner to his favorite restaurants. He would give the waitstaff and cooks a hard time; he was known at all establishments as “here comes trouble”.

 In addition to his wifeEleanor he is survived by his six children, Stephen Dors of Middleboro, Shellie and her husband David Maher of Bridgewater, Susan and her husband Peter Shepard of Litchfield Park AZ, Stacey and her husband James MacDermid of Middleboro, Stefanie Dors of Wareham, and Sharon and her husband Robert Ayotte of Harrisville RI.

Proud Bumpa to Valerie, Sarah, Audrey, and Emily Dors, Scott, Timothy and Shawn Maher, Nicole (Maher) Niccoli, Danielle (Shepard) Smith, Brett Norton, Krista and Matthew MacDermid, Derick and Devin Barisano, Julie Phillips, Abigail and Dean Ayotte.

Proud Great Bumpa to Aidan, Colin, Emma, and Maeve Maher, Dylan Joyce, Allyson Maher, Remington Smith, Blake, Reese, and Colton Niccoli. 

Survived by siblings Nancy Berry, Peter Dors and preceded in death by Charlotte Hurley and Virginia Clark. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

 Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, August 8th from 11am-1pm at Dahlborg-Mac Nevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville. Funeral immediately following at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne. 

In lieu of Flowers, donations in Henry’s memorial may be made to Kindred Hospice, 275 Martine Street, Suite 202 Fall River, MA 02723 or a Veterans charity of your choice.

My warmest thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. I will remember Henry for the wonderful times we had during our bowling years at the K of C in Brockton along with the many conversations we had over the years.

Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you as you send Henry to his new
Command in heaven. Stefanie, your Dad will be pulling for you as he has all of his angel helpers with him. Sorry, we could not join all of you in body, but we are with you in spirit.
