Muriel F. (Fongeallaz) Chaplic, age 92, wife of the late Ralph D. Chaplic, Sr. passed away Tuesday February 16, 2021 at the Life Care Center of Raynham following a lengthy illness. Born in Brockton on Saturday October 13, 1928, Muriel was the daughter of the late William and Mabel (Thompson) Fongeallaz. Muriel grew up in Brockton and Bridgewater and earned her associates degree in early childhood development, and was a resident of Middleboro. She worked at Winthrop Atkins in Middleboro and then ran her own daycare center and was a foster parent for over 60 years. Muriel enjoyed crocheting and was a former member of the Central Baptist Church in Middleboro where she once taught Sunday school for a number of years. Muriel is survived by her children; Susan C. Clark of Middleboro and her late husband Robert A., Ralph D. Chaplic, Jr. and his wife Jean of Florida, Muriel Mattie of Middleboro and her late husband Louis. John Chaplic and his wife Cindy of Mashpee, Christopher Chaplic and his husband Peter Small of Middleboro, Carey Chaplic of Swansea, and the late James and his wife Debbie Chaplic formerly of Hanson. 21 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A graveside service for Muriel will be held on Monday February 22, 2021 at 11:00am at Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater MA, where Muriel will be joined with her late husband Ralph.
